ERP

The energy consumption in recent years has been astounding, so much so that the EU has launched a major strategic plan proposal with the aim of curbing climate change, promote renewable energy , setting a cap on emissions further at EU level and encouraging emitters of CO2 to develop cleaner production technologies .
This should result in a benefit to businesses and consumers, lead to an improvement of the products and protect the environment , facilitating the free movement of goods within the EU.
Energy-related products are divided into:
- Energy-saving products ( EUPs ) , which use , produce , transfer, or measure energy , such as electricity , gas, etc. ;
- Energy-related or related products ( ERPs ) , which do not use energy but have an impact on emissions and therefore can contribute to energy savings, such as doors, windows and faucets.

The 1st January 2013 was a key date in the evolution of engines to the world of ventilation/ air conditioning , with the entry into force of the ERP .

In accordance with the above regulations , a minimum level of efficiency will be required of all fan groups whose consumption exceeds 125 W. The above level is defined by two different phases , the second of which will be operational from 1st January 2015 .

ELCO has been working for some time now through two parallel visions of efficiency standards:
1) Development and design of AC motors with permanent capacitor and shaded pole or three-phase , to satisfy the Erp norm with the current technology available.
2) Proposal for motors with electronically commutated (ECM) as an alternative to the above mentioned technology.

Since we are now in a position to provide solutions for ECM motors from 20W up to 750W, as well as further EC solutions for which we invite you to contact us for more details and schedules.

Thanks to the structure of our R&D Dpt, the company has already developed a complete range of motors for this market segment in both AC and EC.
